National trends for including health in planning is covered through an overview of how well comprehensive plans currently address health across the country. A local example will come from El Paso, TX, one of the first major cities in the U.S. to include a stand-alone health element in its plan. Using Plan El Paso as a model, participants will learn about opportunities to advance community discussion and policies that link the built environment to physical and mental wellbeing.
